February 09, 2017: To clear up some confusion regarding the additional funding added to the NGVIP, we want to note that the 30 vehicle cap mentioned in the application manual at the start of the project on August 07, 2015, is still in place. Therefore, the total number of vehicle incentives any entity may receive under the project since that start date is still 30. Any applications received that exceed this cap will be rejected.
As always, please contact us if you need clarification.
January 23, 2017: At the end of December, the Energy Commission added an additional $11,616,000 in funding on top of the original $10,187,000. This brings the total amount of funding available for incentives since the inception of the project to $21,803,000. Refer to the funding status summary to see how much of this total is available for new reservations.
At this time, all applicants that were on the waitlist at the end of December 2016 have been contacted regarding their applications. Contact us if you submitted an ARF-1 during 2016 and have not received a response to your application.
We will continue to accept ARF-1 applications for reservations until all available incentive funding has been paid out.
See the News and Announcements page for older announcements.

Applicant must mail the signed original copy of the Natural Gas Vehicle Incentive Reservation Form (ARF-1) to:
Incentive Reservation Confirmation will be performed by the NGVIP Administrator. After receipt of a confirmed reservation, the Applicant has 210 days to purchase the qualifying natural gas vehicle and submit all required documentation. The steps of this phase are as follows:
After approval, NGVIP Administrator staff will mail to the Applicant a Natural Gas Vehicle Incentive Reservation Confirmation Form (ARF-2 (blank)) for each incentive reserved. For example, if an Applicant applies and is approved for 5 incentives, 5 confirmation forms will be sent, each showing that an incentive has been reserved in the Applicant’s name, an incentive reservation number, and the reservation expiration date. The reservation will expire 210 days from the date of approval by the NGVIP Administrator.
After approval, NGVIP Administrator staff will send to the Applicant:
For example, if an Applicant applies and is approved for five incentives, the applicant will receive one ARF-2 form and five ARF-3 forms to be sent in to the administrator along with supporting documenation when making a payment claim.
All incentives under a single reservation will expire 210 days from the date of approval by the NGVIP Administrator.
Payments for incentives are processed after delivery of the eligible vehicle to the Applicant, whether the vehicle is delivered at the point of sale or at a later date. In both cases, payments will be processed according to the following steps:
|The Applicant must follow visit the link emailed by the administrator and fill out the on-line form. This on-line form is used in-lieu of a W-9 or STD-204 to obtain the necessary information to issue a check to the applicant.|
